Alumilite Casting Resin Kits
Alumilite Clear – 8 lb. Kit
Alumilite is sold by weight, this kit includes 4 pounds (1.8 kg) each of A and B, approximately 1 gallon of mixed resin
Alumilite Clear is a premium clear casting resin preferred by professional blank makers around the world! This resin was specially formulated with the woodworker's needs in mind including:
- Resilience (less brittle than other resin types frequently used) so that your finished pieces don't crack if accidentally dropped
- High polish ability to achieve that high gloss many demand
- High machinability which makes your finished blanks easy to turn on a lathe, cut, route, or shape on a belt sander
- Low shrinkage which makes Alumilite Clear the preferred resin for Worthless Wood** (wood and resin) castings
- Optical clarity for those times you need a clear casting which also means your dyed castings will remain true to color
- Very low odor so that your entire shop does not stink like when using other resins!
Alumilite Clear has a 7min open time and pressure casting is recommended to achieve bubble free results.
Alumilite Clear must be mixed 1:1 by weight NOT VOLUME. Off ratio mixing may produce hazy or frosted parts.
Recommended for industrial use only. B side may thicken and need to be warmed before use.
**This is the casting resin I originally discovered when looking for a better solution when developing the "worthless wood" casting technique (wood and resin hybrid) as well as for casting other embedded items such as pinecones, banksia pods, cactus, etc. This is what I personally use for all of my blank casting.

Alumilite White
Alumilite is sold by weight, this kit includes 4 pounds (1.8 kg) each of A and B, approximately 1 gallon of mixed resin
Alumilite White provides users with an extremely user-friendly rigid urethane that has good overall physical and cosmetic properties. The low viscosity along with the white appearance makes this material ideal for users who are looking for perfect coloring in their castings. The material has a mixed viscosity less than 100 cps and a mix ratio of 1:1 by weight or by volume. The material features a 2.5-3 minute work time and transitions from clear to opaque white when it cures. Demold time typically ranges from 5 to 15 minutes depending on the mold temperature and the mass of the material being cast.
This resin is useful for when you need a solid color casting. It cures white on its own or you can add dye. When adding dye, you will need to use a lot more dye than with any of the clear resins to overcome the white color. Metallic powders or mica powders are of no use in this type of casting resin.
Alumilite White does not specifically require pressure casting, but I always recommend pressure casting when available to assure zero bubble castings.
